New Government insulation requirements start from November 2005

"....from November 2005 landlords will be required to hold a certificate of insulation for property"

The landlord

You will be required to ensure your property is adequately insulated and hold a certificate to prove your property meets current standards. You will need to use an approved insulation installer.

NOW THE GOOD NEWS

Igloo insulation will:

• Access grants available on your behalf to have works carried out (These could even cover all the costs!)
• Carry out loft insulation and /or cavity wall insulation to current requirements and to a professional standard

The tenant

Your landlord is required to ensure that the property rented is adequately insulated and hold a certificate to prove that the property meets current standards. The work will need to be carried out by an approved installer. You can ask your landlord to show you the insulation certificate for the property.

There are government grants of up to 100% to insulate all properties including those belonging to landlords.
